About Me

I grew up in Rawlins, Wyoming, a small town in south central Wyoming right off of I-80. When I finished high school I attended college at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo to study business and advertising. However, I decided that path was not for me at that time and switched my focus to education. I graduated in December of 2001 and got my first teaching job in Detroit Public Schools later that year. My three years at Renaissance High School were fantastic, but the brutal, sunless winters convinced me and my girlfriend (now wife) to move.

We came to Denver in the summer of 2005 and love it! The winters are filled with snowboarding and the summers filled with camping. The image on the home page is from a camping trip to Steamboat Springs in 2005. I also enjoy ‘tech stuff’, riding my beach cruiser around town, good books and making people laugh/laughing with people. In the summer of 2009 we welcomed the newest member to our family Porter.

Currently I am the Buiiding Technology Coordinator at Horizon High School in Thornton, CO. Life at Horizon has been a great experience with wonderful kids, staff and administration. When I took the job one of my goals was to help make Horizon a leader in educational technology in the state of Colorado and thanks to the hard work of many people at Horizon we are moving in that direction.
