Philosophy
Educational Philosophy
As a teacher, I focus on giving my students everything I can to help them be successful inside and outside of the classroom. I enjoy knowing that when my students move on to new endeavors they have gained or refined the tools to become empowered citizens in a democratic, and increasingly global, society that flourishes with their participation.
I pride myself on creating an environment that makes change possible. Teacher and student must feel like they are in a place where they can express themselves openly and honestly without threat of harm. Once this environment is created the opportunity for success exists. Providing students an opportunity to succeed is at the core of my teaching philosophy.
